Conclusion

This Trail Sentry models have become some of my favorites because of their great detection capabilities and fast trigger times. This year Bushnell has added dual flash capability to the Trail Sentry line at just $174.95. The 20 led infrared flash uses less energy and reaches out further (60') than last year's incandescent flash. The 11-9305 uses a 5.0 megapixel imager which provides great clarity without using too much memory. The PIR (passive infrared) sensor detects motion out to 60' and beyond and triggers the camera in about 1 second(See below). All of this creates an affordable trail camera that compares very well to more expensive models.

An Important Note:

The 11-9305 incorporates an energy conservation feature, or what some in the industry are reffering to as a "Sleep Mode". When the unit is first turned on, or after it is triggered the 11-9305 remains in a heightned state of readiness for 3 minutes. During this 3 minute heightned state of readiness the 11-9305 consumes about 90 miliamps of power and has a trigger speed of about one second. However, if 3 minutes pass without a trigger the 11-9305 enters the energy conservation/sleep mode where it only consumes about 20 miliamps of power. The drawback during sleep mode is any motion detected will take aproximently 6 seconds to trigger the camera. What this means is the first picture taken after periods of inactivity will have a 6 second trigger time followed by pictures taken with a 1 second trigger time as long as the subsequent pictures are spaced no more than 3 minutes apart.
