Recovery Time

Recovery Time is probably the least talked about feature on Trail Cameras, but one of the most important!  Recovery Time is the time it takes a camera to be triggered, take a picture, store that picture and be ready for the next picture.  Some cameras take 60 seconds.  Some game cameras recover instantly.

Consider this scenario, you check your cameras in early November to find a picture of a doe on one of your trails.  While a picture of a doe is nice, how do you know a monster 10 pointer wasn't chasing her 10 seconds later?  The pre-rut is in full swing, the probability of a buck behind her is very high.  You'll never know without a camera with a fast recovery rate!

On the other hand, if you are using the camera trap on a food plot, do you need to take 99 pictures of the same doe munching on your clover?  As you can see, the biggest factor in determining which camera is right for you depends heavily on how you plan on using the camera.

Below is an example of a faster recovering trail camera.
A camera that recovers in 30 or 60 seconds would only have one picture.
