Reconyx HC500 and HC600 Setup Guide

Reconyx Setup and Programming

Luckily, you probably won't even need this setup guide because the new Reconyx models are so easy to program.  The programming for the Reconyx HC500 is the same as the Reconyx HC600.  One thing to note, when you start a Reconyx for the first time it will ask for the date, time, battery type and all that kind of stuff.  It is very intuitive.  This guide is for after you have done the initial time/date setup.  Let's get started...

This is the startup screen - the camera is loading.

After the card is read, the camera will show its status.  The first percentage is memory card capacity, the second is obviously the battery life.

Already programmed?  Just hit "ok" to arm the camera.

Erases the SD card to start with a blank slate.

Obviously, if you are ready to change the settings, this is where you start!

Enter what kind of battery you are using (alkaline, lithium or Nimh) so the camera knows how to properly assess how much battery life is left.

     Serial numbers and firmware I.D.'s

If you want to manually enter each setting (trigger time, recovery time, time lapse and etc.).

If you want to do a quick setup - options are: trail, scrape or feeder.

Under advanced setup: set the trigger, recovery time and burst mode.

Time Lapse enables the camera to take pictures at different time intervals.

     Different options for picture quality

Set the shutter speed, max range, high quality or balanced to get the picture YOU want.

I think you know what this one is!

Set your Code-Loc (security number) to secure your camera!

Add a custom label to your pictures.

     Resets everything to default.

This simply sets the camera to just take pictures of movement (this is on by default).

How sensitive do you want the camera to be?

     How many pictures per trigger?

Rapidfire will take pictures every time something moves - Bam, Bam, Bam.  Rapidfire is near instant recovery time.

Set the recovery time to no delay, 15 seconds, 30 seconds and so on.

There You go!  This is the both the Reconyx HC500 setup and Reconyx HC600 setup.  If you have additional questions on programming or anything else, feel free to Contact Us!
