Trailcampro Analysis
The Stealth Cam Unit is a very small camera trap, it measures 6" X 4" X 3.5." The case design is very solid and durable. The internals are simple and right to the point.
The detection circuit of the Unit is below average. It has a 2.1 second trigger time, recovers in 60 seconds, and the detection range is only 38 ft. However, it does have a wide detection zone, making it useful for small food plots.
The picture quality is inconsistent. During the day, you will notice that it takes an abundance of "white-out" pictures. When it takes a normal day photo, they are above average and very clear. The night photos have a flash range of about 45 ft.
The Stealth Unit Unit operates on 8 AA batteries but it draws a huge amount of power whenever it takes a photo. Because of this, you will only get a few weeks battery life at best. This is very disappointing as there are many small cameras that use AA batteries that will last for many months.
The video from the Unit is also average in quality. It is neither great nor poor but somewhere in between.
Overall, the Stealth Cam Unit scores average to below average in most categories. For an infrared camera in this price range, you would be much better served by spending $40 more and going with the Bushnell Trophy Cam or the Scoutguard SG550.
