Uway's first expedition into the Trail Camera Shootout proved to be a success. Uway has a 1.2 second trigger speed and a very wide detection zone, which helped it score so well.
One thing to note; the camera has a detection zone that is significantly wider than the cameras field of view. We are not a fan of zones like this because you will get pictures of feet (or half a head) when the camera takes a picture before the subject is all the way into the photo. As you can see in the third and fifth pictures on the top row below, the camera only took pictures of half a shoe and then nothing, the camera received a score of 0 when this happened. This really held back the camera and we hope to see the detection zone better match the field of view of the camera in the future.
Overall, we were pleased with the results of the Uway. The detection zone is what you would expect of a camera in the $280-330 price range. Also, as you can see in the photos below, the picture quality (during the day) is definitely a plus for this model.
