 Camera is best suited for:

Variety of situations; Food plots, scrapes, trails and feeders

Conclusion

The Leaf River IR-5 has become one of the more versatile cameras on the market.  This is a highly programmable camera unit that can be used in a variety of conditions.  A 0.88 second trigger is a great improvement over previous models.  This means that you can put this camera on a trail and know with confidence that it won't miss a quick moving animal.  Camera's with narrow detection zones will only take pictures of animals that are directly in front of the camera.  The IR-5's wide detection zone, coupled with a 0.88 second trigger time, make it very valuable in area's such as food plots where an animal may stay on the edge of a field, near cover.
As is the case with most cameras that have a plethora of settings, the IR-5 can be tricky to program.  Inside the camera you will find a multitude of buttons that can be confusing even to a trail camera veteran.  Using the manual is a MUST, and by following the directions carefully you can get the camera set up properly with minimal confusion.
Also, the night pictures are terrible.  They have no depth and they are grainy.  Do not buy this camera if you are looking for good night photos.
Inside the camera is a 1.6" viewing screen, it enables you to look over the pictures the camera has already taken.  This is great for checking to make sure you have correct camera placement angle, or even checking images on your weekend hunt to see if a particular area is getting a lot of activity.  This is a great overall camera that can be put in nearly any setting.  The most impressive thing, as you have already seen, is the video.  You will find yourself setting this camera up in video mode more often than not!
