Trailcampro Analysis

The I35 does nothing well and is below average in most categories.  Most of the technology in this camera has been passed over several times.

Detection Circuit       1.3 stars
The detection circuit of the I35 is typical of any Moultrie, slow.  The trigger time is 2.4 seconds, the quickest it will recover is 60 seconds and the detection range is a short 31 ft.  The only positive is the detection width perfectly matches the cameras field of view.  The only two situations this camera would be suitable for would be a small food plot or a bait station.

Picture Quality       2.3 stars
As you can see in the sample pictures, nearly every picture the I35 takes is heavily blurred.  In fact, we counted all the photos we had from the I35 (both day and night) and over 60% of them had blurring.  This is simply very poor.

Night flash is adequate but as with day pictures, there is significant blur.

Battery Life
3 stars
The I35 operates on 6 C cell batteries and because of a large power draw when taking pictures, you can only expect 3-4 weeks on a set of batteries.  This is well below the current industry standards.

     The I35's
battery life star rating is a bit misleading, as you can see from the data below, both day and night current draws are top-notch.  However, the resting current draw is slightly high and the duration of photo is extremely long.  This, coupled with the camera using C cell batteries, is why you can expect a short battery life.

Ease of Use
  2.2 stars
The Moultrie I35 measures in at 9" X 7" X 4" and weighs several pounds.  This is quite large and bulky for a modern day camera trap and it definitely stands out when it is on a tree.

Programming is very simple, but there aren't many options to choose from.  Durability of the camera is what you typical of the inexpensive cameras.  You can expect about a year of life from this camera.

As you can probably already tell from the above information, this is not a camera that we would recommend.  You will end up spending a small fortune on batteries for a camera that will only take pictures within 30 ft of the subject.
