Stealth Cam Deceptor Max 3.0 Review
The Stealth Cam Deceptor Max 3.0 is a solid upgrade from the 2.0 model, now allowing users to run a rechargeable battery and solar panel together for extended field life. The camera is compatible with Stealth Cam’s FieldMAX rechargeable battery systems and solar accessories, helping reduce trips to swap batteries in the field.
This camera earned runner-up honors in the 2026 Detection Shootout for cellular trail cameras, proving it performs exceptionally well in real-world detection testing. One of the standout additions is the improved app functionality, which allows users to create custom PIR detection zones to help eliminate false triggers from unwanted areas like moving branches or road traffic. The app is simple to navigate, easy to set up, and user-friendly even for beginners.
The Deceptor Max 3.0 also continues to shine as a reliable No Glow cellular camera, featuring invisible 940nm LEDs that keep the camera concealed while still delivering excellent nighttime performance. Combined with fast trigger speeds, dependable connectivity, and flexible power options, this is one of the best-value no glow cellular cameras currently available. - TCP Staff

Video Mode
If this camera were to take 15 day and 15 night videos every 24 hours, it would last 5.1 months in the field on a set of Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries.
Ultimate Lithium batteries are the longest-lasting battery choice due to their incredible consistency and capacity. We've loved these batteries for a long time. However, in recent years they have become cost prohibitive and forced us to seek out a more affordable, eco-friendly option.

Case Design
The Stealth Cam Deceptor Max 3.0 is a similar to other Stealth Cam models. This Max cameras are heavier with there being 16 batteries and is a lot larger. However, the latch operates smoothly and the battery compartment seems to hold the batteries really well. This camera will not have an SD port and have internal memory. There is no menu on the camera. The antenna port is on the top of the camera as this can cause moisture in the entry port. There is a threaded insert on the bottom of the camera for a tripod mount and it has a bracket for a python lock.

This camera didn't do too hot in the flash range shootout. You can barely see the outline of the 130 ft buck, but not really tell what it is.
