Don't use alkaline batteries
"When temperatures plummeted my old trail cam stopped working. It worked indoors after I inserted new alkaline batteries, but did not work outside after the camera and batteries got cold. After my new Trail Cam arrived I saw that the manual recommended using lithium batteries. So I replaced the alkaline batteries in the old camera with lithium batteries and it is working once again. From what I have read the lithium batteries not only work in cold weather, but last much longer than alkaline batteries even in warmer weather."

"Bought a Browning Strike Force HD Pro trail cam in early December. I've been recording mostly videos since then, non-stop. It's now mid-February and I haven't had to change batteries yet.
