Megapixel ratings for trail cameras seem to increase more & more every year. In reality, the native resolution of 99% of all trail cameras is 5 megapixels or less. Manufacturers artificially inflate megapixel ratings for advertising purposes through a process called interpolation. Interpolated photos are enhanced by software to mimic the file size of a higher megapixel photo, but seldom offer additional clarity or resolution. The result is an exponentially larger file size photo which takes longer to load and slows down the speed of your camera. We always program our cameras to capture photos at the image sensor's native resolution. This allows our cameras to operate as efficiently as possible and store more photos to memory. With shorter load times, this also allows us to review photos at a much quicker pace.

"I really like this cam. It takes great pics and great battery life but the trigger needs fixed, It has to many false triggers on high and i cant even put it on high for having thousands of false triggers in a field. Turn it down to meduim and it misses to many pics up close"
"Nice camera for the price point (99 USD for one). Menu is extremely easy to use, especially contrasted against some other cameras. One of the biggest features to me was being able to do both photos and videos for one motion event. Many other cameras require picking one or the other. Daytime photos and videos are mostly excellent. Nighttime photos are blown out almost every time for anything but very far away animals. A real downside, and one that had me leaning towards a 3-star review. I'd pay a bit more money to have an adjustable flash intensity option. Or, GardePro, just dial down the flash intensity on this model to make it usable for reasonable distances. One thing that is extremely irritating is having to reset the date and time for every battery change. Because all my other cameras have a small internal battery that maintains an accurate date/time, my brain has been trained not to reset the date/time after a battery swap and I end up starting at the wrong date (Feb 28!) and the wrong time. The iNaturalist site where I post my photos pulls the date and time from the picture, so I have to change all of that info manually. Very time-consuming."

"I use the camera for videos. The day time videos are ok, but the night time videos, the lights are too bright in one spot directly in front (about 15 to 20 feet) from the camera and it is hard to tell what you are viewing. No matter where you set the sensitivity you get a lot of falsies and the camera does not pick up the animal until it is about 30 ft in from of the camera. The animal can pass to the right or to the left and the camera will not pick them up."
