Picture Quality Not Significantly Better Than Less Expensive Camera
"I compared Reconyx vs Moultrie by placing both cameras on a tree, one above the other, trained on the same spot. ........................After I post this written review I will try to upload samples to demonstrate relative quality of HC500 vs the Moultrie 999i with two photographs with insets. I selected a night pair and day pair. The Moultrie looked better in daylight, with the Reconyx better at night. . . . I find the RapidFire format, allowing up to a ten shot burst very useful. The probability of finding a photograph with the subject feature showing well increases greatly using this. . . . The Reconyx seems more rugged. I've had trouble with the Moultries breaking down in tough environmental conditions. One Moultrie quit working within a week when it didn't survive a below freezing fog, the kind that forms hoar frost crystals. . . . The menu systems seem equally useable. I have had trouble with those of two other makes. These seem good. . . . The Recoynx triggered more reliably. I had a series with a pair of grey squirrels nicely covered by it, while the Moultrie didn't fire."

Tried the rest, buy the best
"I've owned about every brand of trail camera out there. They've all failed in less than 4 years and they've all missed pictures of animals passing right in front of them. UNTIL I bought my first Reconyx five years ago, and now my second. THEY FLAT OUT WORK! I challenge anyone who thinks their camera is better, to mount their camera side by side with a Reconyx and see how many animals your camera is missing. My only complaint on Reconyx is the night pictures are not always perfect - but at least I get the pictures and can determine what the animal is."

Best camera on the market
"I have both the HC 500 and HC 600. I love them both. Cameras are expensive, but so worth. I have had the HC 600 for over four years now. I had a problem.last year were there was an electrical issue. Reconyx fixed everything for free even though it was no longer ilunder warranty. Great customer service, great quality pictures and camera! Will never buy anything else!!!!"

Worth the money!
"I have purchased almost every brand of camera on the market and this out performs them all. These cameras are built to last 10 plus years, not a year or 2. The picture quality is awesome and very consistent. No blank pics or all black pics. I was afraid to pay the primo price, because I could get 2 or 3 other cameras for the price of one of these, but it is well worth it. If you are even questioning it, just buy it. I wish I would have bought more of these long ago!"

Really the best trap cam I ever had
"or a couple of years y tried four different brands, beginning easy with the more cheap cameras, but was not satisfied, nor with the speed nor with the quality of the pictures. Then I bought the Reconyx, and the standard jumped up. A few weeks ago we had a flood, the worst in forty years in the region where I had all my cameras, and all cameras were flooded for two days and two nights. As we took the cameras out of the water, they were all destroyed, with only one exemption: the Reconyx still works, there was not one drop of water inside, and the camera survived. And it still delivers first class pictures at an unbelievable speed. I already ordered a second Reconyx, and without any doubt: I never again will buy any other brand than tis one."
