Reconyx Mount Review.
"For a company that produces one of the best trail camera on the market I am disappointed in the all plastic mount. Can not move the joint left and right, only up and down. The slightest bit of over tightening and the plastic will break. For the price point it’s a huge disappointment."
Best Mount Going
"Have tried several other mounts, but the Reconyx locks the camera into position the best and is very stable."
Did not work well for me
"I got this mount because it looked like it would be easy to replace the screw with a bolt and mount it to a board. That part worked, but unfortunately the adjustment for vertical angle has steps or cogs rather than continuous adjustment. The steps were too large for my situation. I filed the cogs off the plastic ball and put in small rubber washers to get smooth adjustment. That does not work great, but it is usable."
Needs different screw
"This screw is very difficult to self tap into hardwoods. They should copy the design of the Ameristep tree steps or others whcih work much better. Good design otherwise"
