Reviews

very nice

"The camera takes very nice photos day and night and with the solar panel the camera did not fail for over 6 weeks when i checked it (may go way longer). SD storage card included was also plenty to last over month and half with an abundance of photos taken daily. thank you"

Good camera

"Very good camera excellent day pictures not so excellent night pics but ok solar panel does charge to great in the area I have it in the battery came down to about 80 precent on the solar battery in a month with 130 pics most were night pics so over all pretty good."

This is awesome! Great Pics and Vids.

"I have had many different brands and this is by far the easiest to set up , swap cards and basically use. It takes AWESOME pics and videos. It may cost a bit more but it is well worth it."

Rocky Raccoon

"Great trailcam, especially for night pics."

Awesome Camera!

"Having not to purchase batteries every week goes a long ways. This is my second one. I bought the other one 4 years ago and still use it year around. Highly Recommend!"

Trailcam Review

"Still not sure what solar panel does, seems batteries still go dead and without batteries, no images. Quality of images is no better than other trail cams."

Spypoint Solar

"Excellent trail camera. Found the perfect fit for my usage. The reviews posted on this site and the testing they have done in each camera made choosing one very easy!"

The best ability is reliability

"I have been using these for a few years. Always reliable. Never fail. Good picture quality."

Great day vids, night vids need work

"I use this for biological monitoring of otters, so the trailcams need to deal with day, night, water, sun, rain, you name it. The daytime videos are excellent, the night videos fall short. The low glow IR does not extend very far compared to the (used to be great) Bushnell low glow IR. Once that’s fixed, I won’t have any complaints (well, maybe….there are always improvements)."

Q&A

would these cameras fit in a bear box with the solar panel
The universal security case is designed for it, here it is: https://www.trailcampro.com/collections/spypoint-trail-cameras/products/spypoint-universal-security-case
How does this camera perform in cold temperatures? I have lost camera's to the cold here in northern MN.
All Chinese made cameras generally work down to around 0 degrees (F°), if you need a camera to operate below that you will need a Reconyx. https://www.trailcampro.com/collections/reconyx-trail-cameras
Can this trail camera be remotely accessed by smart phone or computer?
No, it is not a cellular camera. Check these cameras out if that is what you want: https://www.trailcampro.com/collections/cellular-trail-cameras
Does these cameras have gps tracking capabilities
They do not.
Does this camera have SD card overwrite?
Spypoint cameras are equipped with continuous file recording. When the memory card is full, the camera will continue to record photos or videos by deleting the first recorded files. I believe this is done automatically.
Maybe I missed it, but what exactly is the solar panel charging? You say to use Lithium batteries; the solar panel obviously won't be charging those.....
It has an internal battery it is charging.
I assume this is still a Canadian produced product... I have a Spypoint that is in use at the present time... Service for the camera has been the issue... Deer took out the Freshnel lens and replacement cost was 30.00 dollars plus 20.00 dollars shipping. Had the same thing happen on a Browning and they sent two lens at no charge... No service for Spypoint in the U.S. that I am aware of, certainly not in Texas. That being said, I am intrigued with the solar feature of this camera..
Travis, They are a Canadian company but the cameras are produced in China. They do have an office in Vermont, which makes shipping warranty issues much easier for US customers. Please remember, any camera purchased from us comes with our own 2 year warranty, so you would be able to get warranty service directly through us. We are based in Springfield, Missouri. Spypoint did contact us about your question and wanted to pass the following along: "Service is our top priority this year so could you give me his email address so I'll contact him myself to apologize and send any replacement for free in the future if needed!" -Spypoint If you would like to take them up on this you can contact us or Spypoint to get this processed. Thanks!
