Case Design
The case design of the Recon Force Elite HP5 is exceptional and the camera feels sturdy and well-built. The strap and python cable are threaded through a steel bracket affixed to the case. Most manufacturers use plastic. The camo case design allows the unit to blend in well. The HP5 has a threaded slot on the bottom for a Slate River Mount and the battery compartment and SD card slot are both easily accessible.
The battery tray is tough to get out initially. However, after removing it several times it loosens up for future operation. The LCD screen on the inside is very large and easy to read. The SD card is easily accessible from the bottom. In general, this is an outstanding case design.
Camera Setup
The Recon Force HP5 has a 2" internal viewer for picture playback, live preview, and settings adjustments. The buttons respond quickly and the HP5 is very easy to program.
The Recon Force HP5 has nearly every programming option imaginable and accepts SD cards up to 512 Gigabytes.
Durability
The vast majority of consumer-grade trail cameras are inexpensive, imported devices exposed to harsh conditions 24/7/365. Most manufacturers only offer a one-year warranty. We stock only the most durable units and provide an additional year of warranty at no extra charge. The Trailcampro exclusive 2-year warranty allows you to deal directly with Trailcampro avoiding long wait times on hold with the manufacturer and prolonged periods without a replacement camera. "The Browning trail cameras are good value for money, the videos and photos are great. The Trail Cam Pro shop handles orders very professionally, fast respons, fast processing of even large orders. Thanks to Marc for the excellent service!"
— Alexander M. (5/5)
Great Camera
"I have six of this camera series and shoot videos exclusively. The setup is simple, the video quality is great, and the battery life is great (I use lithium batteries). The wind will occasionally trigger it but I don’t know if you’ll ever eliminate all false triggers. I’m in bear country so I have to use security boxes and python locks. I would prefer the python cable to also lock the box lid when it locks the camera, but I just loop the cable through the bottom lock tab to lock the lid."
— Kelly (5/5)
Good cameras
"They are a good camera. I’ve been using the spec ops since they first came out. The only issue is the video and pictures aren’t as good as the older models!"
— Phillip J. (4/5)
fastest shipping of anyone!
"I have several of these and they are awesome!"
— George B. (5/5)
Doesn’t have the features of
"Doesn’t have the features of lesser cameras such as an angle pivot, ability to take a photo at the beginning point of a video, and the strap /clamp is weak and fraying. The video quality is very good."
— Jason J. (4/5)
The versatile Browning Spec Ops HP5
"I have now an inventory of 6 Spec Ops cameras, total satisfaction with this camera. Least amount of issues and easy to set up and maintain."
